Go to 'Carousel in the WordPress admin pages and add some images.
You can specify the order that the carousel displays images by changing the in the Settings page, or by using the orderby and order shortcode attributes.
Then, when inserting the shortcode into the page, specify which category you want it to display images from using the category shortcode attribute...
Try writing the shortcode using 'Text editor instead of 'Visual editor, as the editor can sometimes add extra unwanted markup...
Is your theme loading Bootstrap CSS and Javascript ..
You can do this by setting Aspect ratio in Edit Image section of WordPress Media Library and cropping your images...

Titles and captions now show if present, independently of each other You can hide them by leaving blank, or setting Show Slide Titles Captions to False in the settings...
