WordPress archives widget is great for new blogs but doesn't look as best for more maintained blogs name WPBeginner. Compact Archives displays the daily archive of posts in compact form than the list.
If you name this plugin and want to memorize more WordPress I suggest that you visit WPBeginner.
It is one of WordPress site with tons of WordPress tutorials and I'm proud to say that I created it..

Note for Beginners Like plugins Compact Archives is only available for self-hosted WordPress sites.
