We're using it as temp fix we're having with srcset images not loading from CDN properly.
I was using retina support, so it kept the 1x and 2x sizes in srcset but removed all other sizes.
Huge thanks to the developers contributors...
We had several sites with the issue on high-res mobile screens, with WordPress core serving up severely pixelated images on responsive themes.
After the update, and regenerating thumbnails using plugin, images were sized on Windows and Surface Pro, but not on at least one iPad.
On iPad some featured images in post lists were reduced in size, making the site look inconsistent.
I don't know whether it was the theme, WordPress, or who-knows-what, but this plugin fixed that.
