Simply put this plugin gives the Editor role access to edit. topic options..
Appearance > Customize if they are supported by the topic.
Instead of adding this capacity by hand on site just install and activate this plugin it keeps your functions. php issue clean and keeps this type of configuration where it belongs..
The capability is added to the role once plugin activation and removed when the plugin is deactivated...
Upload editor-theme-options to the wp-content plugins directory or search for.
Why the Editor role and why this capability..
They're just robust and this is for role and capability...
If you know how to apply filters then you can fork the plugin have it do what you need.....
