I use WordPress Gallery lot on websites I build.
It's tool, but it's hard to find.
Click the first icon next to Upload Insert, then click the gallery tab., I created this simple plugin to display all the attached images in metabox..
After updating to WP v4.9 this plugin gave me PHP error until I added image and then deleted it.
