This plugin here only shifts the foot content within the #footer div ID 'Footer Widgets #1 etc. keep untouched..
For client projects I had the reply to build the footer stuff with widgets additional to the footer widgets in #footer-widgets system.
Upload folder to the wp-content plugins directory or just upload ZIP package 'Plugins > Add New > Upload in WP Admin.
Still it can be neccessary to tweak some badges for experience if you're using search form in the foot you will shift the type or number or whatever bit..
