This stretch terms how to install the plugin and get it working..
Go to Plugins > Add New > search for Get First Image Set As Featured Image Press Install Now for Get First Image Set As Featured Image plugin Press Activate Plugin.
Upload the Image to the wp-content plugins Activate the plugin through the Plugins in WordPress..
Plugin doesn't work on 4.8.1 nothing is happening when demonstrating the plugin..
Also the interface doesn't live and it's not possible to review or manage plugin's action.....
Questions go unresolved in the services forum.....
Perhaps I'm ignorant but if there's image within the post then this plugin is able to assign that image as the. included thumbnail image..
