All this plugin does is is change the buddypress signup activation process such that.
When signed up user activates their account, it makes them logged in.
Once that user is logged in, they are redirected to their profile..
In your WordPress admin panel, go to Plugins > New Plugin, search for LH Autologin on Activation and click.
Alternatively, download the plugin and upload the contents of 'lh-autologin-on-activation to your plugins directory.
If people have access to your email, in which they could reset their passwords, or set up account with that email anyway...
