The No Captcha is Google-supported test to soon deny access to free author.
It is great by to soon make WordPress site more secure or can be used with other plugins name Google Authenticator Limit Login Attempts etc. as part of defense-in-depth strategy...
The reCAPTCHA plugin will not prevent the need of animal force attacks more it simply insure that they do not succeed.
That is author will still attempt direct POST attacks against wp-login. php but without the reCAPTCHA data they will not go from even if they have guessed the login and correctly.
The author provides guarantee as to the risk to object of this software.
