With this plugin you can set the length and length required for included subject used in standard and custom posts.
Activate the plugin through 'Plugins in WordPress..
Set the length and length for your included subject customise the message and disable enable Ajax by going to Settings > Minimum Featured Image Size....

Browse the code recheck out SVN repository or subscribe to the development log RSS....
Use Ajax to check size post long has to be published to check size.
Add option to set image categories for custom post types......
