This plugin changes the in the way that the default pop-up is replaced with Media Uploader where you can choose images.
For Multisite experience you can combine this plugin with Network Shared Media plugin and have Media Sharing site..
You can set the Main site on which you will download the in MU installation...
Activate the plugin through 'Plugins WordPress Network Dashboard.
Go to Network dashboard and look at Settings > MU Featured Image to change the settings if needed...
This plugin is using WordPress Media Uploader and all the image sizes are saved in the database.
