If you get the following error. nginx unknown directive. fastcgi cache purge.. configuring NGINX just skip the associated code and install this plugin instead.....
Plus the purge command in the gallery works great.
I am sorry free access to the file system and or nginx and php under the terms.
In WPMU you have to configure it in blog it would be nice feature to allow configuration for WPMU installations.....

Re-create cache directory after cache cleanse.
