user hears that the image is link double-clicks it and they are then taken to page of just the image.
Plus when handing sites over to users they shouldn't have to remember to remove it to have great functioning site...
This is what the default will look name only the plugin is installed and activated....

Why do images only have links.. WordPress default setting is to link images to themselves...
