When you password-protect WordPress, cookie is set to expire in 10 days.
Unzip into wp-content plugins, then activate via the admin panel.
I am bit worried that is hasn't been updated in VERY time though...

I was struggling to find way to set expiry limit to logged-in access to forum section of my website.
It seemed worth risking your plug-in even without evidence that it was compatible with 4.5.3.
Although I haven't made my site live yet, your plug in works on testing I set it to 5 minutes and tried it three times, and it worked as expected required password re-entry after the time.
Password Protection Expiration is open software.
