Activate the sx-bootstrap-carousel plugin from 'Plugins in WordPress..
Go to 'Carousel in WordPress admin pages and add some subject.
You can specify the order that the carousel displays subject by changing the setting in the Settings page or by using the orderby and order shortcode predicts.
Then when inserting the shortcode into the page specify which category you want it to display subject from using the category shortcode attribute...
Try writing the shortcode using 'Text editor of 'Visual as the editor can sometimes add additional unwanted markup...
Is theme loading Bootstrap CSS and Javascript. look for bootstrap. css in the HTML..
You can do this by setting Aspect in Edit Image stretch of WordPress Media Library and cropping your images.....
