Isn't it annoying when you craft post champion and then URL slug type of falls short.
I'm wild & literally can't even and your post slug turns out name breaking-yankees-win-3-2-in-extra-innings-im-excited-literally-cant-even..
3-2. is ambiguous because all the words are removed by dashes.. im. is not word.. cant. means something center.
The leading. breaking-. will be wise when the date of URL is 3 years old.
Sure it's and version of the plugin will help with that. but it reads much better..
Upload the whole cws-slug-control directory to the wp-content plugins directory..
Activate Slug Control from 'Plugins in WordPress....
This is first release to test the idea.....
