If you are developer, you can use the cs the term thumbnail and the cs get term thumbnail id functions to get the image or the image id for any term...
In the second select box you can select if posts should use this taxonomy as fallback for the in case they have term associated..
If you go to the page of in which the image is enabled, you should be able to upload image and also to set the priority, in case post has more than one term of this taxonomy...
You can pass the parameter to print the image for term..
If you don't pass the parameter, it will print the current taxonomy in case tou are in term archive page or if there is in the current query. 4.2 cs get term thumbnail id.
You can use this function to get the the term featured image id in case there's one selected..
