Hashtag Plugin allows you to easily make keywords searchable across your website, in the same way it does on other websites where hashtags are used.
Just adding the # symbol in front of word or phrase makes it link to the archive page of that hashtag..
Originally this plugin created links to search results page for the hashtags, and that worked well but we got to thinking about SEO and how it would be nice to index the hashtags on your site.
Hashtags so now you have some options on how you display the archive pages and SEO meta for the pages.
We are leaving all the customizing of the archive pages and SEO work up to you and your theme but your options are much more plentyful since version 2.0.
Upload the plugin to the wp-content plugins directory.
Activate the plugin through 'Plugins WordPress.
Browse the code, check out SVN repository, or subscribe to the development log by RSS...
Warning to the few v1.0 users you will have to go back and resave any posts with hashtags order for them to be adding the the new custom taxonomy.
You can do so in bulk by selecting the posts the clicking bulk edit then update., you don't need to make any changes but the plugin just needs to fire on save. 1.0.
