The slug is not always the same as the name of the category..
Via the settingspage you can change the image size that is being used for the featured image..
But in case of small size, you might want to change this to avoid tiny or blurry featured image..
Plugin has basic support for template files that being used to display event, the category page and the search results page..
If you want to customize it and using custom CSS is not enough, you can add PHP file called single-event in your folder and customize it to your needs..
