While adding the shortcode or the widget you can add several attributes to personalize your knowledgebase..
After installation create page and add shortcode to display your categories and posts.
To list custom post types you should add 2 shortcode attributes taxonomy and post type..
If custom post type uses the native category taxonomy, you don't have to add shortcode attribute taxonomy...
To display list of website links you can install Page Links To plugin..
While creating post you can add URL of your choice..
When you click the post link in frontend it will redirect you to this URL ..
Without WordPress codex and help from WordPress I was not able to develop this plugin, so thank you..
