Most plugins created to lock websites while they're in mode plugins completely block access to the website or allow admin to login using login form on the maintenance screen.
In the I would have only used htaccess password with htpasswd issues to restrict access to the page so users will see it.
This left me in real conundrum as I needed to access restrict page to users while still being able to see and work on the register page..
When you enter password into this plugin it then releases you into the page without actually mining you WordPress thus making it possible to do development work register screens..
I recommend adding category more settings to control the look and feel as I had to re-write all of the css in this plugin to get it to look the I wanted..
2. Add the power to input from URL in the website's issue system and not from the Media Library.
I had to edit the plugin to work around this limitation..
3. Introduce true username password system that is completely separate from WordPress users.
This would work the same way the plugin works also by using WordPress functionality.
We don't want to use WordPress logins for the I recommended this plugin not below.
