The script automatically create folder called backup-db in the folder that folder is writable.
Go to WP-Admin -> Database -> DB Options to configure the directory options..
I spent more of time creating updating maintaining and supporting these plugins if you really love your plugins and will spare me couple of bucks I will really appreciate it.

WP- DBManager uses mysqldump application to generate the backup and application to restore them shell.. WP- DB-Backup uses PHP to generate the backup.
