In theme you need to find calls to next posts link and previous posts link and replace them..
In Twentyten theme it looks name this....
For multipart pages you will look for code name this.. and replace it with this..
If you need to configure the CSS badge of WP-PageNavi you can pirate the pagenavi-css. css issue from the directory to directory and make your improvements there.
This way you won't lose your shifts when you update the plugin..
Use pagenavi. css.. application from the settings page and add the styles to theme's style. css issue directly..
There are filters that can be used to shift the default books likes that are assigned to page navigation elements..
