Finally I asked for help and the solution to my problem was that I didn't update the YEAR on the counter.
Perfect silverdario works fine, free to customise...
Tried several plugins, but this is the only one that doesn't force you to buy premium to display responsive, simple countdown timer + it loads it's files through javascript only on pages where it's visible, not on all of them...
The Developer was super and super responsive when we had question around customisation.
And once you style it you see preview on the plugin page.
