Why do you think it is important to talk about page speed now.. Jon We've reached a point where people are making such slow sites that it is ruining the web record for category of us. Unless you're on broadband. based on the fact they have said personally that it is factor, then my answer is yes.. Bing has been great more quiet. Where do you start when you know you need to increase your page speed and you do not really have idea of what to do first.. Jon We're in really interesting time right now because we have web type that do not even know where to begin with their page. save it into AMP page, it canonically links back to the not quick page and still has all the content.. That seems easy on the surface for some of these small publishers. The problem with that has to do with the fact that all the them they did to their page that made it slow are almost always tied to advertising. There are them I addressed on Make Fast Sites. The number one thing I've been pushing is you need to refactor your code. Many sites will just run libraries of JavaScript that are not even used on organization of the pages, and they have to load even before the rest of loads. If they were to actually go in. It really has to do with what you can memorize when you look at why end users and why Google name AMP pages. It provides user record so that people can actually read and digest content instead of having four columns in your view and them blinking and popped in front of you the whole time.. What are some categories to test page speed.. Jon The best way I locate or the need and tested of categories is Google Page Speed tool. If you're looking at it from development standpoint, probably the best way to do it is to use Chrome browser and to use dev tools because their dev tools will actually show you where the not quick downs are and what's taking so long.. How do you think Google's mobile-first index is going to factor into the importance of page speed.. Jon If webmasters and SEOs are not approaching sites and optimizing their sites from mobile-first, that's problem.
